Brand identity mockup for Common Ground cafe and space

Breaking through category inertia.

Urban coffee shops frequently oscillate between elitist specialty minimalism and kitschy communal warmth. Common Ground sought to be an unpretentious civic hearth—a place for debate, literature, and outstanding coffee.

Form follows uncompromising meaning.

Developed an energetic, typographic identity rooted in vintage newsprint, modern civic posters, and bold contrast. Two overlapping circles form the core mark, representing community convergence.
